By keeping some basic rules, you can keep your tennis racket clean and battle ready. It does not matter if you are a regular player or a beginner – keeping your tools in good shape is the key to success. Keeping your tennis racket clean will improve your game and is simply cleaner.
Tennis rackets have a layer of duct tape around them. This must be removed. The best thing you can do is to remove it by hand alone. If you cant you may use a paper knife, but you must be careful not to leave any scratches. Cleaners World’s End suggest you use some sort of grip scrapers, available at the sports store, to remove all the excess sticky stuff from the grip.
A small amount of simple dish washing soap, or even a laundry detergent, mixed with clean warm water can help you clean the racket. Make the mixture and put a small brush inside it. The brush is to be a short, sturdy one and soak in the mixture for about two minutes.
Use the brush to scrub the surface of the tennis racket. Be sure you do the cleaning properly – if the brush is to big to fit into certain cracks and holes, use a cotton swab instead.
After you finish the brushing of the racket, wipe it down with a clean towel. This is not simply to remove the moisture. Cleaners World’s End say that the moisture can cause rusting, and eventually damage the grip of the racket. The other option is to place the racket in a place with dirrect sunlight and leave it there to dry.
